ERCA

ERCA is a course for doctoral students, scientists and engineers from universities, public research institutes and private research or industrial organisations. ERCA is a high level international course covering:
  • Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry,
  • the climate system and climate change,
  • atmospheric pollution at different scales,
  • the human dimensions of environmental change.

The course also covers other planets, satellites, and objects from the solar system and beyond.

For four weeks, conferences and visits to institutes are organised in Grenoble, then practical work is organised at the astronomical and geophysical observatory of Haute-Provence (OHP) where the students visit and work with various atmospheric measuring instruments (lidars, spectrometers) and several optical astronomical telescopes (80 cm, 120 cm).
