Observation networks
Research today requires instrumentation devices and long-term data collection to provide the means to assess the significant changes in our environment, particularly within the framework of international protocols to regulate emissions. Research on planetary atmospheres provides complementary information to descriptions of the Earth's atmosphere and requires instrumentation installed on space vehicles conducted by space agencies, in particular the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) and the European Space Agency (ESA) whose efforts over decades go from the conception of the project to the arrival of the first data. Given the significant investments made, these are national projects.
