Atmospheric Remote Sensing Instrumental Site (SIRTA)

SIRTA is a national observation service dedicated to cloud and aerosol research. The instrumented site is located in Palaiseau (49N, 2E), 20 km south of Paris (France) in a semi-urban environment. The observatory brings together several leading-edge remote-sensing instruments, both passive and active, to study the dynamic and radiative processes of the atmosphere. The detailed description of the properties of the atmospheric column over the SIRTA site is made available to the scientific community.

The primary objectives of SIRTA are to improve our understanding of atmospheric processes, to test atmospheric transport models, and to develop measurement methods by remote-sensing.
